As a Junior/Assistant Merchandiser, you’ll play a key supporting role in helping our products succeed in a rapidly evolving global market. You’ll collaborate with teams across the business, learn how international supplier partnerships operate, and gain hands-on experience in forecasting, stock management and commercial decision-making. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Support the Merchandising team in maintaining supplier and shareholder relationships
- Assist with supplier cost price, lead time and payment term discussions
- Help prepare and update stock and sales performance reports, identifying trends and opportunities under guidance
- Monitor pricing across categories to remain competitive while protecting profitability
- Analyse sales trends, inventory levels and production schedules to create purchase orders and maintain inventory within budget
- Forecast demand and manage stock levels to prevent out-of-stock occurrences
- Collaborate with departments across the business to support sales, profit and effective stock management
- Provide administrative and analytical support while contributing ideas to improve product performance
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Ideally 6–12 months’ experience in a merchandising, buying or purchasing role (internship/placement welcomed)
- Interest in developing supplier relationships; exposure to overseas suppliers beneficial
- Enthusiastic, proactive and keen to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Excel for ordering spreadsheets and stock/sales reporting, confident across Microsoft programs
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling data
- Willingness to learn negotiation and commercial decision-making
- Able to prioritise tasks and work effectively under guidance in a busy environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, highly organised, motivated, with familiarity or interest in WSSI and category planning
